Good news for shoppers visiting the Philippines! Foreign tourists can now get back the 12% Value-Added Tax (VAT) they pay on certain goods, making shopping more rewarding while exploring the country.
Who Can Get a Refund?
Foreign passport holders staying in the Philippines for 30 days or less.
Visitors not engaged in trade or business in the country.
Tourists who spend at least ₱3,000 per transaction (VAT-inclusive) at accredited shops.
What Purchases Are Eligible?
Goods bought from stores with the “VAT Refund for Tourists” sign.
Items must be taken out of the Philippines within 60 days of purchase.

How to Claim Your VAT Refund?
Shop Smart – Buy from accredited stores and keep your official receipts/invoices.
Go to the Airport Counter – Before checking in for your flight, visit the VAT Refund desk at the international airport
Show Requirements – Present your receipts, purchased goods (unused and in original packaging), and your passport.
Receive Your Refund – Refunds may be given in cash (up to a limit) or through bank transfer/credit card.
